Name: Matt Cordova
Birthday: 7/24/90
Riding since: Been riding my whole life.
Lives in: I’m drifting around right now. But currently Lake Elsinore, CA
Influences: Mike Aitken, Chase Hawk, Kris Fox anyone that has good flowy style really.
Hobbies: Outside of riding Bmx I like to ride motocross. I’ve been getting really into photography.
Music: My ipod goes from August Burns Red to Tom Petty, to some dubstep to Gucci Mane, to Kesha haha. I’m all over the place.
Favorite riding spot: That’s a tough one. It’s a toss up between Scott Carpenter park in Boulder, Tigard park in Oregon, or Nasty’s yard in Cali.
Favorite bike video: There are too many good ones out there but the Demolition Last Chance DVD is amazing!
A dirt lip or concrete hip: Both are my favorite things to ride but nothing beats getting sideways on a dirt jump.
Twitter or Facebook: All about twitter! Hit me with a follow @Matt_Cordova.
Favorite road trip story: Probably would be a Team Soil trip to El Paso Texas. That was one wild trip.
You have traveled quite a bit the last couple years. How has that shaped you as a rider: I feel like it’s helped me out quite a bit. Living in all the places I have definitely help shape me into the rider I am today. I think it’s helped me find my relaxed riding style I guess you could say.
Coffee or Dr. Pepper: I love both. But you can never go wrong with a ice cold Dr. Pepper!
Is it true if someone drinks your blood they get your powers: Um I’m really not to sure. Never tried it. But sounds sketchy.
Thoughts on the BMX community today: It’s awesome, Bmx is just a big brotherhood.
Future plans: Riding the waves of life. Riding everyday, we’ll see where it goes from there.
You recently got a spot on Volume’s team. How has that been going: It’s going good. All the guys over there are super rad and supportive. I’m blessed to be picked up by such an amazing company.
Anyone you would like to thank: Gotta thank the big man upstairs first off for giving me all my talents. All my family and friends. Jeremy Hana at Sullen Clothing. Brian Castillo over at Volume Bikes. Ryan Brennan and Team Soil. Shanedog from Compound. Joe for always hooking it up. Anyone who has helped me out along the way. I’m probably forgetting someone.
Any advise for the kids just starting out in BMX: Find what you like to do. Have fun with it, don’t listen to anyone else. Everything will come on it’s own. Ridaz!
Final thought: Thanks everyone for the support! Follow me on istagram I take sweet photos @Matt_Cordova
